NBC 10 (Providence) Talks with Solar Thera As Mass. Reopening Looms

Massachusetts marijuana dispensaries hope to open in phase one

With May 18th looming, business owners throughout Massachusetts are anxiously awaiting to hear which phase of Governor Baker’s reopening roll out their industry will fall under. Cannabis remains one of the Massachusetts-based industries that have been suffering since the shelter-in-place order and is ineligible for federal relief.

“It’s been awful from business-planning perspective. It’s been really really bad when you lose all of your sales.”

Solar Thera’s CEO Edward Dow chatted with NBC 10’s Amanda Hoskins to express what’s been happening since the “non-essential designation” of adult-use cannabis and how he’s hoping Governor Baker will include cannabis as part of Phase I in his reopening plan.

“We’ve put a lot of money into this economy and Massachusetts. We’re hoping they help us continue down that path.”
