Massachusetts-Based Cannabis Operator Teams with Bristol County American Legion to Offer Free Workforce Development and Recruiting Programming Aimed to Help Veterans Find Careers in Cannabis

Solar Cannabis Co. (Solar) – a leading vertically-integrated cannabis operator in the State of Massachusetts – today announced it has partnered with the Bristol County American Legion to offer free, local workforce development and recruiting programming aimed to help Veterans find careers in cannabis, which will launch on Wednesday, February 22 from 5:30 PM-7:00 PM. at the American Legion Post 228 in Somerset, MA. 

In an effort to empower and employ the brave individuals that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, Solar Cannabis Co. and the American Legion have aligned to launch its free workforce development and recruiting programming, which is set to kick-off this February. Through its philanthropic arm “Solar Shines,” Solar will utilize internal resources to create accessible programming that will equip Veterans with career skills and know-how that can really make them stand out in a very competitive and crowded market.

“We’re really proud to be pushing this outreach initiative forward, especially with the support of the Bristol County American Legion,” said Derek Gould, Director of Marketing and Communications at Solar. “We have a real unique opportunity to provide our service men and women throughout the South Coast access to the type of career development training that can really help them break into the cannabis industry.”

Solar’s “Careers in Cannabis” workshop will be broken down into the following sessions:

Intro to the MA Cannabis Industry: A high-level overview of the MA cannabis industry as we know it
Fundamentals to Successful Resume Writing: A step-by-step guide to formatting and writing impactful resumes that will make yours stand out from the crowd
Interview Skills for Success: Tips and tricks to nail your next interview
Careers in Cannabis: Discussion about career paths within cannabis; review open positions at Solar; close with a Q&A session
On-Site Interviews: Meet with Solar’s HR team for real-time interview sessions.

“There are so many amazing career opportunities within the cannabis space right here in Massachusetts and Rhode Island,” said Gould. “We want to make sure we’re doing everything in our power to prioritize our amazing Veterans and provide the aid and support that they deserve.”
